MIC seeks fund for development of Indian community
Well, it happens again!
Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian Indian Congress, a component of the ruling coalition, has demanded the government to allocate an annual fund for economic, educational, social, housing and health-related activities as well as skill training for Indian youths here.
Well, what happens to all the money that had been channelled to MIC previously? And, what are the assurance that if the money had been allocated, it would be fully used up for all the said activities instead of being used by those big-thugs within the party, Mr.Paari for his own personal expenses, for the benefit of the party itself or even preparation for the upcoming election?
“The Prime Minister agreed to act and we believe he will have the answer soon,” MIC chief S Samy Vellu was quoted as saying by Bernama news agency yesterday. He said that an application was made to the Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi three months ago and that he was deeply concerned with issues facing the Indian community, especially in getting employment in the public sector.
How come Mr.Sam is now only concerning about the “issues facing the Indian community”? Was he sleeping before this? At first, you said that the “Indians were OK in this country”, when HINDRAF raised the issue pertaining to Indians’ situation in this country. So, if they are “OK” as you said, then why you wanna go around and asking for funds and, so-called “concerning about the issues facing the Indian community”?
Refuting the claims by certain quarters that the Indian community had remained backward despite 50 years of independence, he said that several Indian graduates, teachers and businessmen are proof that the community has progressed. “We will try to help the youths so that they will have a brighter future,” he added.
Oh my god! Just because “several Indian graduates, teachers and businessmen are proof that the community has progressed”, does that mean ALL the Indians have progressed? To a certain extent, I do agree that 50 percent of something is better than 100 percent of nothing, but I don’t think that the “several” people you had mentioned would account near to 50% of the current Indian population! Dear Mr.Sam, please think out of the box! Just because 4 out of 30 students had scored straight As, that doesn’t mean that you are a good teacher and picking the 4 students and saying that “My class had progressed” is UTTER NONSENSE!
