IPF president Tan Sri M.G. Pandithan dies

Yup! You heard that right! It’s Denmark! Personally, I have never heard any other tamil songs besides those from Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Germany, Canada and India but this video song is something new to me, especially from where it came from.
It seems that the music was composed by Logan & Thushanth, and I seriously have no idea who are they! Why am I posting this here? Well, I bet some of you would be eager to listen to ‘their’ (Denmark) tamil song(s) and comparing it with our local songs (which happens to be blast!), so, if you happened to be a music enthusiast, good luck in decrypting the lyrics as well as the music!
*Duh, can’t he get a pure tamil girl to perform?
*The title of the song is “Manam Virumputhe”
Well, I have just received the news saying that my grandfather has passed away. He is my mother’s dad. And if I’m not mistaken, he is around 82 years old. Died due to complications in his brain and low pressure.
I’m not sure when I would start blogging again but rest assured that I would return as soon as possible. Hopefully in 3 or 4 days time.
Till then, sorry to all my readers!
Rest In Peace (R.I.P), grandpa!
I’m not sure how many of you would have watched this BBC’s interview with Tun Dr.M which was aired recently but for those who missed it, well, it is a waste! Frankly speaking, the way this interview was conducted reminds me of the interview between the late Raghuvaran and Arjun in the film Mudhalvan but just that in this BBC interview, they were not talking about ‘be in my position’ or what-so-ever!
At one point, Stephen Sackur mentioned about the November 25th HINDRAF rally and Dr.M said “Why now, why not at my time?“. Stephen Sackur bravely replied “If people disagree with you, I’m afraid they would end up in jail“. ROFL! What a ‘pwned‘ reply!
Further questions asked by Stephen Sackur was about the Anwar issue, the critics issue, the western issue, the NEP issue and so forth! So, to all of you out there, please take your precious time to check out the first part of the interview below!
KUALA LUMPUR, MON: The PAS national Youth movement today demanded the Home Ministry (KDN) to reconsider its decision not to renew the publication license for Tamil newspaper, Makkal Osai.
PAS Youth chief Salahuddin Ayub said the KDN should consider the fate of the 102 employees of the company if the decision was to be maintained, besides showing proof and concrete evidence on the mistakes committed by the newspapers.
He said this after leading a PAS Youth delegation on a visit to the Makkal Osai office and a dialogue with the newspaper’s management at the Kompleks Batu, Jalan Ipoh, here. Also present was Makkal osai News Editor, B.R. Rajan.
On Thursday, Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said that the government had decided not to renew the publication license of Makkal Osai after finding that the newspaper had on several occasions breached the media guidelines stipulated.
Rajan said that so far the newspaper had not received any feedback from the ministry after making an appeal on the same day.

Albeit PAS has nothing to do with ‘Makkal Osai’, at least they are coming forward to voice out their concerns pertaining to the permit renewal matter of Makkal Osai. The same has been done by the Angkatan Muda Keadilan Malaysia (AMK), DAP and the Centre for Independent Journalism. Uncle Sam knows very well that his voice is no longer being heard and thus, this is what he gotta say:
“I am sad this has happened. I don’t know why they (the ministry) did this. But the (the daily’s management) can appeal.”
Enough said by Uncle Sam.
Now, why the heck I can’t hear any voices from the IPF, MIUP, ABC or whatever party that claims to be the ‘backbone’ of Malaysian Indians? Hello, we are losing a ‘newspaper catered for the Malaysian Indians’ and what you people, as so-called Malaysian Indians are doing?
We are losing one of our source of press here, and we might keep on losing another one, maybe another newspaper, a radio station or even a TV channel.
Please do whatever seems to be possible to save Makkal Osai from being completely closed down. Put aside all your internal rivalries and go ahead and pressure the Home Ministry and its minister, email him, phone him, send him letters, send him some representatives, start a campaign and etc.
At least do something. 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing!
Thanks to “Logan” for submitting these photos via email. The following images were captured during the “Chitra Pournami” celebration at Port Klang on 19th April 2008. If you guys noticed, the first picture itself shows a MAKKAL SAKTHI PORT KLANG ‘panthal’.

Dear friends,
While today’s papers hailed as the step forward the Prime Minister’s speech in restoring the judiciary and bringing to a close the sacking of Tun Salleh Abbas and other eminent judges, the fact is the government is still in its old state! The abrupt banning of Tamil Makkal Osai proves the high-handed, non-transparent and non-consultative manner in the administration is yet to be cracked!
Let’s all of us send an email to Syed Hamid Albar, the new minister of home affairs urging him to lift the ban on Makkalosai and explain on what basis it breached the guidelines. Stop him from his total discretionary power over press freedom and the people’s right to information!
You can send an email with just the following subject line and CC to us at CIJ for us to follow up
