Latest news by P.Waythamoorthy [Adopted from HINDRAF.ORG]Mr. P. Uthayakumar was yesterday discharged prematurely despite his blood sugar level being recorded at 13.5. ( normal being 6 ) We believe this was deliberately done upon pressure by the Police and Prison authorities on doctors to discharge him.
Since being discharged and taken to Kamunting prison he was again not given medication for about 20 hours even that upon various complaints made by him.
His diet is still the same and it appears they are still serving him with food which contains high sugar level.
During his stay in Hospital Mr. Uthayakumar was informed by the doctor that there is some damage to his eyesight (retinopathy) and his heart muscles may have been damaged but that only be confirmed after an ECO cardiogram test which is fixed on 28th April 2008. There is excessive urea and protein in his blood system and his blood pressure is still very high and despite all this he has been discharged.
There is no resident doctor or visiting doctor at the detention centre and in cases of emergency he has to be rushed to Taiping Hospital which is about an hour drive and with no modern medical facilities.
Mr. Uthayakumar’s family wishes he be taken urgently to a reputable Private Hospital on an urgent basis (they are prepared to bear the medical costs) or the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for immediate treatment and a thorough medical check up be done to asscess his medical condition.
The continous elevated blood sugar level is continuously contributing to worsening his eye condition and the risk of silent heart attack.
The Home Minister should seriously take genuine professional medical advise, look into his health condition and take the necessary positive action and stop playing politics with his life.

WHAT IS UMNO’s NEXT AGENDA 4 HIM???
I am deeply ashamed with the attitude of Indians these days. Whats all tht about ‘ oh, i prayed for you’, ‘god bless you,while you’re in jail’ thing. Stop using god as an excuse to not do anything, because you CAN do something from your part! When we needed help, Sir P. Uthayakumar came to our rescue, NOT GOD! And now when he needs us, we are trying to give him some fake hope by having prayers nationwide? BE REAL PEOPLE!
Sir Uthayakumar’s fight is only the 1st phase of what i believe would be a long hard fought struggle to regain our rights as citizens of Malaysia. So what can you do to help?
1. Adults (working and earning)- hand over financial aid towards the family members of the detainees. These are counted as donation towards mothers whom are forced to single-handedly raise their families now while their husbands are JAILED in an UNJUST MANNER. So ur donation is NOT to HINDRAF but to NEEDY MOTHERS AND CHILDREN INSTEAD. When they hear abt you helping their family, the detainees will be HAPPY, thus i can assure u tht feeling assured of their family’s wellbeing, they will recover from any sickness or mental ache through happiness.
2.Students (primary, secondary, tertiery).- nothing, i mean NOTHING is more IMPORTANT thn education. to be respected and to be heard, you need a good profession in the future. Studying hard is the ONLY key towards achieving tht. If Sir Uthayakumar were a laborer do you think people would listen to his points raised? DEFINITELY NOT! In fact all our heroes are either lawyers, politicians and etc. Since ive mentioned tht all these would be a long term struggle, we all have time to improve and become someone important who’s words are worth listening to in the future. I CAN BET YOU IF SIR UTHAYA WAS ABLE TO ADDRESS THE COMMUNITY AT THIS POINT , THIS WOULD BE THE FIRST THING HE WOULD MENTION TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS ALIKE!
SO, pls stop behaving like fools and living in denial hoping that ‘God’ would one day turn up at the Kamunting detention camp, and release all the detainees. Because it wont happen.

Well, done to those of you whom have blogged, it is very brave indeed, in fact for ur information, since i’m a student myself, im already practicing option 2 with might and determination. I was hoping to gather more people to do this together with me, but i suppose there are people such as yourself (Vilayattu Ponnu
), whom are still ignorant, so at the end of the day instead of 100 Indian professionals fighting for our rights, there will only be a few, maybe 1 or 2 as it has ALWAYS BEEN, whilst the rest 1 million Indians are busy praying. I believe in GOD, im a HINDU, but let me tell you whatever is happening in our country is for REAL. At the moment theres only one thing for me to say, ” You can bring the donkey to the river, but you can’t force it to drink”.

“Vilayattu Ponnu”, pls stop using the excuse tht Mr. Waytha has asked everyone to pray. He is a hardworking man, and he doesn’t expect anything more from us Indians, thus he has asked us to pray. I strongly believe that we can do BETTER thn tht to help MR WAYTHA and the other 5 DETAINEES. If you can’t do more, than i FEEL REALLY SORRY FOR YOU. You simply fall into the category of the ‘majority’. Having access to the internet and reading ( or maybe writing blogs, ONLY GOD KNOWS), i expected people here to be a little more dynamic and have a higher depth of understanding regarding the current situation, so looks like it isn’t the case with you. And i strictly did not say tht NO ONE was practicing option 1 and 2. AGAIN, trying to twist the facts from your part.
Don’t worry, i’m not really interested to proceed having a war of words with you as i do not think tht its worth all the effort trying to spend time here writing something and asking a ESTATE MINDED BRICKWALL to bring his/her life to a higher level.
