UPDATE: If some of you haven’t noticed, the page of the “GURU SIDANG PAGI” (Morning session teachers) in the official SMK Telok Panglima Garang website has been edited to be exclusively viewed by registered members where as previously (a few days back), it had a free access (Well, you could simply register now and view it without any hassle). In addition to that, a shoutbox was even removed from that site. But don’t worry guys, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Our infamous GOOGLE CACHE managed to store the ‘cached’ version of that page and you can have a look on how that page looked like in July. So far, I have no luck in finding which teacher committed the offence as there was no GURU SEJARAH in the list but, there is a KETUA PANITIA SEJARAH! Could that be her? Do take your time to checkout the shoutbox as some concerned citizens voiced out their feelings in that shoutbox. Teacher should apologise for racist slurs: Malaysian Indians

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 6 (IANS) A secondary school teacher in Malaysia accused of hurling racial slurs at her Indian students has been transferred but the local community refuses to treat the matter as closed and has demanded a public apology.
Two students of SMK Telok Panglima Garang in Banting, Selangor, lodged police reports against the history teacher last Friday alleging that she had made derogatory remarks about Indian students and called them unflattering names, The Star newspaper said.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator T. Murugiah, who visited the school, said the teacher was being transferred.
“She also said that she did not expect things to become so serious and has agreed to be transferred to another school,” added Murugiah who was accompanied by officers from the Education Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Department’s Public Complaints Bureau.
According to Murugiah, recommendations would also be made to the education ministry to institute disciplinary action against her.
He said the issue was now considered closed and advised members of the Indian community as well as parents of the affected students to accept the teacher’s apology.
But they refuse to do so.
“She must make a public apology as she insulted all Indians and be transferred to a desk job and not allowed to teach anymore,” said the group’s spokesperson S. Muthamil Selvan.
Secretary of the Coalition of Malaysian Indian NGOs Gunaraj George added that his organisation was preparing a memorandum on the issue to be presented to Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak.
Indians, a bulk of them Tamils, who form eight percent of Malaysia’s multi-ethnic population of 28 million, have frequently complained of discrimination in education and jobs.

This is the real story behind what was shown in Bulletin TV3 news.
About 500 angry parents and other members of the Indian community
gathered outside a secondary school here on Monday to protest racial
slurs and abuse allegedly uttered by a teacher against Indian Students
recently.
The crowd began gathering outside SMK Telok Panglima Garang’s main
entrance near here at noon and dispersed about two hours later.
The headmaster was on leave, so some teachers accepted on his behalf
copies of police reports made by a Form Four student and a Form Five
student. According to the police reports, the female history teacher
had allegedly called Indian students in a Form Four and a Form Five
class `keling pariah’, `Negro’, `black monkeys’ as well as other
derogatory names.
The teacher had also purportedly said that .Indians came from dogs’
and the community members were stupid and prone to thuggery and
thievery.
The police reports also alleged that the teacher had said that
Indians were the `children of prostitutes’ and the community’s
Youths `did not have testicles’ on July 17 and 22, and had also
purportedly beaten up some Indians students.
The Form Four student also alleged in his report that the teacher had
written the word `keling pariah’ on the board and lost her cool when
the Indian students in the class told her that they did not like
being called names.
Coalition of Malaysian Indian NGOs secretary Gunaraj George, who was
among those who handed over the police reports, said that exposure to
such abuse would only breed hatred and racial polarisation in schools.
“No one in his or her right frame of mind would have said these
things. Given this, the best option would be for the teacher to be
assigned to a desk job and not be allowed to be near youngsters
anymore,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Education Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong said the
schoolteacher might be sacked if the allegations proved true. The
allegations were serious as no one was allowed to insult others,
especially in a school environment, said Dr Wee, who was asked to
comment on the incident when visiting a nine-year-old accident victim
at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru.
He added that the ministry was awaiting an official report before
taking any action. (The Star Online)
***** It’s a small wonder how such a blatantly racist teacher had
survived this long without being detected. Perhaps she had been
previously always posted to schools consisting of pupils of only one
race.
In a way I feel sorry for her. Having chosen Such a noble profession
and then to abandon everything good teaching entails and engage in
the basest display of human hatred is a sad thing.Sacking her is
perhaps not the answer. Maybe she requires psychiatric intervention.
But one thing is sure. There are many, many more like her who have
been let loose in our schools and God knows why the education
Ministry keeps silence about taking action.

What I do not understand is, why aren’t the parents SUING the school, the teacher and the Education Ministry?

Lets commence a class action againts her. Lets sue her in the Courts. If l 5,000 of us can claim that we underwent traumatic stress and each of us are awarded RM 10,000 each, thats RM50,000,000, that will make her a legal bankrupt for sure.
Lets she how she gets on in life when she will be unable to apply for any sort of credit.
