A “Datukship”, RM300K and RM3000 pension

We all know that one of our Malaysian badminton player made it to get a silver medal for the Beijing Olympics 2008 and in return for his success, he will be getting a “Datukship”, RM300,000 as well as a RM3000 pension. I am proud of him, and we all should, since he played as a Malaysian, won as a Malaysian and came back as a Malaysian. All of us are Malaysians, aren’t we?

Now, one thing that keeps on bugging me is that the ‘award’ he received for his success in obtaining a silver medal. I won’t be saying that he should get less or he do not deserve to get a “Datuk” since I do not know the criterias in order to receive one, but when recalling with what ‘others’ had did, don’t you think those ‘others’ deserve at least, a better award? And, since there are a lot of ‘others’ in this country, I wish to streamline those ‘others’ to Malaysian Indians specifically!

Others

Others

Others

Don’t you think the people above deserve a better ‘award’ instead of the usual certificates and some cheques? At least, don’t you think that Krishnamoorthy who risked his life by saving 18 others should receive a monthly pension of some thousands? (I don’t think he is receiving any for now, or could anyone clarify this?)

This is ‘Boleh land’ where awards/datukships can be bought with money…..Others can wait it seems..Nicol David was only considered for Datuk title very recently. But in case of our badminton player, he got it immediately….I wonder how they judge?

Express datukship was due to the by-election i Permatang Pauh..
Other wise, LCW would might only receive at his retirement age (only if malaysia still remembers him then)..

Real hero’s are only icon’s for politics here (bolehland) and bound to be forgotten when not needed.

another thing abt our badminton player is that he is a chinese. the one who is so keen to award him is lim guan eng, a chinese as well. to add some more, he is a penangite! Now, does that rings the bell?

What will happen if an indian made it to get a silver medal? who would be so keen to ‘award’ him?… NONE! everyone would be expecting MIC to award that person and MIC would be expecting to go around and collect some funds in order to “cheer the success of OUR youth”..

      sigh…

Agree on Chan, all being manipulated coz the election - and even the lowering petrol price to 2.55 , visit to the KTM train station….. and now added datukship for LCW. Im not condeming LCW, but as what makkez is trying to tell here, there are MANY more ppl who deserve the same ‘award’ ..or at least a worthy appreciations……. Krishnamoorthy is a true hero! and for the survivors - they should know him better as a GOD…

all this happen also bcos of tomorrow’s PP by-election..
again i disappointed for politicising the sports!!!!

    10. Avatar Makkez August 26th, 2008 at 12:30 pm

@Naga - They are included as well in the “Others” list bro. But, I don’t think they received as much as what our LCW brother is receiving currently.

      What the heck!.

You guys know Michelle Yeoh rite. Then you guys should know she is Datuk Michelle Yeoh now. Then why brothers from Alleycats don’t get the same title?.Is it because they are just another local band that sings Malay songs or just another Indian?.So what piss me off?.That apek never stays in Malaysia but she is considered as ‘class’.Because she can be rubbed?

You guys definitely know Azhar Mansoor rite.He is the first bumiputera that loiter around the world with heavily funded goverment sailboat. Now,Datuk Azhar Mansoor.Imagine if Mr.T.Ravichandran ( for example..forget about Everest..) did the same deeds like Azhar Mansoor…will be awarded as Datuk?.I bet Mr.T.Ravichandran won’t even have a Sailboat!.But Datuk Mansoor in Australia too.Again Mr.T.Ravi,you will be known as ‘just another Indian’.

Now Lee Chong Wei.I will congratulate him for saving this Malaysia’s ass a bit.But i will stop with congratulation and a fancy dinner with a bit of reward. That’s what he deserve. What kind of achivement he had made?.If he can achive like Nicole David…mmm…then i would say he deserve it.Nicole David can touch world’s first rank so she deserve it.I still remember an Indian guy who won gold medal in 98 Commonwealth game receive only RM 40K THAT..after he beg for it.Why?..cuz’he is just another Indian’.

As a person in Motorsport especially Rally,my idols are from Finland. But whenever people invoke about Rally in Malaysia, everyone will point to no other than ‘The Flying Sikh’ (nope..not the Singh is King),Mr.Karamjit Singh. What happen to him?.He is 5 time APRC Champion (Asia Pacific Rally Champion) & i can’t accept the fact is he gets nothing. No sponsorship,no nothing. Now imagine if he is Mr.Muhammad.Wow!.By now he will be driving in WRC (World Rally Championship) alongside with Sebastian Loeb,Miko Hirvonen… well guys ‘just another..this time ..emm.. different a bit…’

      Think about it.Systematic termination.What a f*&%in country.
