Mitsubishi Evo as Malaysian Police cars
KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian police has bought 25 high-powered Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution cars to catch criminals and speed hogs.
The cars, worth several millions of ringgit, would be fitted with safety gadgets and would sport the looks of police patrol cars.
Sources said the police had already taken possession and were testing the cars before sending them to the Road Transport Department for registration and approval.
“The cars are to be used in high-speed car chase, especially in cases of carjacking, kidnapping and hijacking.
Wow, I’m surprised! While we could see our government trying its best to promote local cars hoping that more people would buy it, on the other half, the police force decided to do otherwise. It looks like they are slowly ditching our local cars and opt for the best. Anyway, I bet the reason for this upgrade would not be limited to the speed issue alone, but would definitely be inclusive of the overall quality of the car. Wait a minute, by saying that, I am not degrading our local cars.
Looks like our mat rempits now have a challenger on the road, just that the new ‘challenger’ would have four wheels and won’t bother to bang those rempits if there is a need for them to do so. Not forgetting some of our karat kaigels who would love to curi some expensive cars and drive all the way to a secluded area hoping that no one could chase them, too bad, they have a new challenger as well. All hail our police force!
*I’m just wondering, would there be a vacancy for being a driver for this kind of police cars soon?

first of all , Malaysian police who drive proton wira and proton waja all this time, know how to handle this beby( lancer ) or not ? hopefully when the chase the criminal , malaysian police not end up in a lonkkang coz don’t know handle this car , haha

Hopefully this solves some of the crimes at least…But then…in Malaysia..even if they catch…can ‘settle’ ma.

oh yea the g0v also expresses its lack of confidence by markettin the proton at a very low price estimated abt 15k to european countries… and this is inclusive of the taxes payed…so Malaysian’s open ur eyes widely! lo0k ar0und…do rectify me up0n these issues written if there r any particular mistakes..+>

I really wondering… so what the use…? waste the money of us tax payers only… and is it really profitable…? at the street where i sees people who drive really fast, there are two type of them… one is person driving a BENZ… and another is LAN EVO skyline and porsche… the first that drive a BENZ… they won’t even care even they are cought… what paying a sum of 300 of coffee money of 3000 of summon can’t even match their earnings la…(if not they can drive BENZ meh…? it’s life small fries for them la…) as the later one-Skyline and porsche no need to said… no modification also this damn lancer “polis” car also cannot keep up d… some more they are street racer definately they had modifed the car which can run even faster… as of the LAN EVO also… all are heavily modified… i really wondering whether the so call “HIGH SPEED POLICE CAR” can keep up…? ( no bluffing ok…? my friend’s lan evo 8 after modified reach 320++ km per hour. i donno how he did it but i had pee in my pants and i faint… =.=) why don’t take the money for the poor and save it up… when saw people race just “samban” la… better choice… use the money to install CCTV… not just prevent street racing… catching criminals it can even improve the safetiness of the sociaty…
i saw the evo 10 @ MRR2 not long ago.. 10 of them driving together, sirens on, but not drivng fast also.. it is oni like 90km/h.. n u imagine, our policeman.. with big tummy, driving these cars.. n duno their handling skills so good or not.. hope we dun c it in the longkang somewhere.. n i bet, if they chase also chase those normal unmod car laaa..
well… the police force is trying their best to get on top of all the criminals… thats good…
the PDRM@RMP just need to build up a special team with highly skilled and trained members choosen to be competant and highly disciplined personell so they wont show off or just abuse their status as a special team(in regards)..
even tho we have this special team now ( i don no what they call it) it seems to be very lousy… go oversea and visit the local authority there laaa.. see how they build up special police team in their place.. baru laaa people respect the police.. (so ppl wont say.. police with big tummy, driving high speed police car not more than 90km/h laaaa)
dudes, for those u believe its a waste, then maybe u guys would rather enjoy to see our police chasing criminals wif merely proton saga… but ironically, if the criminals escaped, u guys question competency! And to those who compares (police) evo + (civilian) bigger machines, dont be childish! many other ways to stop those rich but 3rd-world-mentality inconsiderate “tyrants”
and the issue of “promoting msian car”, again, even other countries use both local + international cars, wuts wrong?!
Its not bout the cars, i salute the move, its just to me, cars without proper road rules + implementation + legal actions are just gonna add very little to the outcome.
Looking at the police cars in the US? Do they need a turbo engined car as a police car? Yet they can still manage the high speed chase successfully. This just shows how the incapability of our police force. Shameful.
