SLC – The Plan updates

I believe some of you might recall a post regarding “SLC – The Plan” in this blog which dates a few months back. For those newcomers, you might wanna check it out here. Well, I happened to stumble upon that ‘SLC – The Plan‘ site moments ago and noticed that they have already initiated their first ever task to supply tables and chairs to a selected school, which was SJK(T) Ladang Midlands, Shah Alam. Kudos to the team!
Although I do appreciate their priceless efforts in making this ‘plan’ a big success, nonetheless I really hope that the team would spare some time to do a total makeover of their site. One thing that I would love to stress about is regarding the chatbox. Well, it shouldn’t be there in the first place. They are simply inviting some anonymous chatters to engage in a cyberwar and I won’t be surprised if sooner or later, the chatbox would be bombarded with tons of racial slurs and name-calling games. And secondly, until now, I still don’t see any detailed information pertaining to the committee members besides some of their names, bank account numbers and state representatives listed a few pages back. Who are those people in the management team?
Do bear in mind that whatever I wrote previously were merely my worth of two cents. =)
Keep up the good work guys! Valge nam samuthaiyam!

Partner, I feel the same. Do you think necessary promotions had been made to publicize their effort?
It is important that more and more people comes to know about this so that more people will put their effort to help. I do not know if there is any advertisements made, please correct me if I’m wrong.
The plan is great but funds are low. Why dont u guys talk to the committee and try to publish about the plan here
Bro, I wrote abt SLC back in July, but I don’t see any transparency issues resolved since then.
But I won’t write them off, yet.

@Durai – Yea me either bro. Not much advertisements and promotions are being made by them and yet, they are asking the makkals to help them. How to help if some people don’t even know about their ‘plan’ and their existence?
@Trinity – Their ‘plan’ has been already published here bro. You can view the post by clicking the link provided in the above post, which refers to my previous post regarding SLC.
@sactyr – Yea bro, I am aware of the post that you made a few months back. All we could do now is just wait and see on how they are progressing. Good luck to them!
Bro, I am from the University of Malaya. And I personally know the team behind this work. Trust me, they comprise some amazing leaders fit to lead the Indians of the country.
SLC is a bond that ties the Indian undergraduates in Malaysia. We are tired of relying on societies, parties such as MIC or its so-called active wing Putera MIC and other organizations where their chief intention of helping Tamil Schools is for their photograph donating a big cheque to appear in the front page of some newspaper.
There is a reason for the lack of publicity for this PLAN-it is because it is not wanted in the first place.
There is a good proverb in Islam that says;
“When your right hand donates some money, don’t let the left hand know about it”
As long as the children gain, we should be happy. If you want to know about SLC-do enquire or email to the blog. I am sure that your queries will be answered. Basically, we believe in the empowerment of the undergraduates.
Cheers!
hi guys… i’m vj ; one the guy from the management team. As you all know The Plan is a project that organized for student by student,…and of course, like what posted in sactyr blog, we are indeed facing from with registering a society due to Auku. If we do wide promotion as you guys suggested, there will be a huge possibility that this plan will be sabotage by our very own nandes and importantly, the committee decided only to targeting students to make sure to run this program. So why bother doing wide promotion when we can reach them through our university rep ? And of course what jared wrote is true also….
It’s not that people not aware of this project, its just their blind ignorance..Ignorance in terms of not banking in 10 bucks on regular basis as promised or let others know about the plan.
Let do a small calculation…leaving out those who don’t know anything about this program, there are around 200 people(based on those supported and agreed supporting this project in slc ‘08) that knows about this plan. If they themselves give their heart out doing what they suppose to do, the project would go on smoothly and we could have RM 2000 on monthly basis to run the project.
Ask our Indians to buy thanni and cigarettes, they will be happily spending a lot of ringgits even if they have travel so far to buy that… but ask them to help out on this project, u can hear all kind of negativity and excuses…( famous excuse ; ptptn kaase sudah habis lae)
ippadi irunthe eppadi lae…
We decided on the first meeting itself that we wouldn’t allow anybody to collect money on behalf of slc to avoid all sort of fishy things that would tarnish our plan’s image. So we asked the student to bank in the money themselves on a strong believe that they will care about the future of our schools and the students…. Anyway, once the semester starts, we are anticipating more findings as our rep has promised to turun padang wit some other approach …hopefully this can change the situation..
On Transparency issues, i will try to get feedback from the committee and keep you all inform.. pls do visit the blog often too…
p/s : the committee especially the UM guys had been trying to conduct a meeting to form a society that would help run this project on proper platform. But we could set a proper date to have this meeting. Hopefully we could have this meeting soon. …
