8-year-old Tamil girl married a frog

Tamil Frog

A few days back, I posted an article on how a 9-year-old Tamil girl had successfully became a Microsoft Certified professional by passing the MCP examination and I gotta say that it made me happy and proud of her achievement. Well, that is a different story. This time, I came across yet another interesting news, but this news neither made me proud nor happy with what ’she’ did, or to be precise, what had been done to her. Well, as funny as it may sound, it seems that an 8-year-old Tamil girl had been married off to a frog! You heard that right, it’s a frog, the creepy-looking four-legged amphibian creature!

TAMILNADU (20/1/09): The annual ritual of getting a girl married to a frog organised in Pallu Puthupattu village on the Tamil Nadu - Puducherry border is an interesting meeting of fairy tale and real life.

On the first Friday of Thai (Tamil month) every year, a girl of Pallu Puthupattu village is married off to a frog that is fished out from a temple tank.

On Friday 8-year-old R Vigneswari of the village was married to a frog that was fished out from a Sri Muthu Mariyamman temple.

At the wedding the residents adopted all the rituals that are followed during a normal wedding. The people residing at western side of Sri Muthu Mariyamman temple were considered as relatives of frog. They visited the residence of the bride, Vigneswari and obtained permission of her parents for the marriage.

I am in no position to justify whether their belief/ritual is right or wrong but practically, it is total crap and even a 3-year-old kid would be laughing at the above news. Talking about what happened, why don’t we check out the reason given on why it happened?

22 year-old Kugan died while in police custody

Kugan

This post was meant to express my deepest condolences to the family of the late Kugan a/l Ananthan, regardless of what crime he did, who had died while being in police custody in Subang Jaya police station (20/01/09). It was purportedly reported that Kugan died due to asthmatic problem, although his family has denied that lame reason. Anyway, lets keep our fingers crossed hoping that the post-mortem report would eventually lead to the real cause of his death and those responsible for it shall be convicted. And finally, this case would be the latest addition to the “Malaysian Indian deaths in police custody“, which has already archived quite a similar number of cases for the past few years involving Malaysian Indians.

Lastly, for all those karat kaigels, beware guys! Anything can happen at anytime, although if you happened to be a nerd! By saying that, I hope you guys could understand what I meant.

e-Love among Malaysian Indians

Chat girl

I really wanted to discuss about this topic for a very long time but unfortunately I didn’t get the right time to do it. Anyhow, I shall do it now.

e-Love, or better known as “Online Love” has been going around for quite some time as we all may know but what we didn’t knew is that how this e-Love thingy managed to influence the heart and brain of some of our youngsters, particularly those guys. Oh and please don’t mistaken me for condemning this e-Love whereas I am not. Before I proceed further, let us go back to the old ages, to those days when mIRC reigned as the pioneer platform for Malaysian Indians in making love online (not the usual ‘make love’ which equals to fcuk). I bet some of you would know about mIRC and some might even be addicted to it those days (or maybe even now), but we can’t deny the fact that e-Love among Malaysian Indians were popularised by this program. And the reason? Well, because it mainly involves chatting and just chatting! Note: Please bear in mind that the term ‘e-Love’ used in this post defines the love that blooms ONLINE without meeting each other, and not after they got to know online, met outdoor and then only proceeded with loving each other.

We all love chatting, be it chatting for fun or chatting seriously, but when it comes to chatting for a specific purpose, which is, to find our life partner online, there comes the drama. Those days in mIRC, the following names were very famous:

Priya
Nisha
Prisha
Shasha

The above names would somehow gave an impression to some kiddie boys (mainly those school boys who loved to play truant and spending their whole day chatting in cybercafes) that the girls with those aforementioned names would be very hot and pretty. Talking about that, when those names were customized such as:

PriyaCutie
NishaHottie
Prisha**Kiss**
~muax~sHaShA~muax~

That would certainly be a double joy and do expect our kiddie boys to jump around as they would be starting to dream on dating the girls with the following names. And there goes their first message to the purported girls, the same message in which the purported girls would be receiving in less than 5 seconds from 10 other guys right after she had signed in to her mIRC:

Hi dear, asl please?

And either there would be no reply, or a reply would be coming in 10 minutes later. Talk, talk, talk and finally the boy would be asking her HP number. Once again, either she would give a fake one, says that she doesn’t have any, asks him tons of questions on why he needs her HP number and at last, giving her real HP number. There would be many possibilities in this situation but the second answer would probably be given the utmost priority. Talk, talk, talk once again and the boy would twist the whole conversation and would ask:

What do you think about sex?

Tuppariyum Puli - Trailer

Tuppariyum Puli

With regard to my earlier post titled “Tuppariyum Puli - Upcoming Malaysian Tamil Serial”, the director of the aforementioned teleserial emailed me with the link to the teleserial’s trailer uploaded in Youtube which can be viewed below. Personally, I love retro stuffs and this teleserial seems to be revolving in the 70’s or 80’s and it reminds me of the “That 70’s Show” sitcom though. Anyway, this teleserial is scheduled to be aired somewhere in February 2009 via TV2 and Jaya TV Networks, TamilNadu. Yes, you heard that right, Jaya TV networks! My best wishes to the whole team!

9-year-old Tamil Girl becomes Microsoft Certified Pro

Tamil

A nine year-old girl in India named M. Lavinashree has passed the Microsoft Certified Professional Exam, becoming the youngest person to ever pull it off (smashing the record previously held by a 10 year-old Pakistani girl). The youngster has a long history of making records in her short life — including reciting all 1,300 couplets of a 2,000 year-old Tamil epic at the age of three — and now she’s now cramming for the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Exam.

When Lavinashree was one and a half years old her mother, M.Induleka, began to teach her English alphabets playfully. The alphabets were plastic toys and when her mother dictated the alphabets one by one, she pointed out them accurately. She also learnt to identify the symbols of our nation, national anthem, national song, flags of various nations, leaders of our country, countries and their capitals, fruits, vegetables, flowers, shapes and many others. When her elder sister Lavanya started studying Thirukural, Lavinashree forced her mother to teach her the kurals and started repeating the words effortlessly “We never forced her to study. She developed her own interest and we only acted as facilitators,” says K. Munisamy, father of Lavinashree.

While our makkals are busy partying for scoring straight A’s in their PMR and SPM examinations, this little Indian girl did something which we would have never thought of; by passing the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exam at the tender age of 9 (8 year-old as listed in some other sites). And oh yeah, she has a website dedicated to her at:
