Muar Kali

I got this forwarded email with the subject line “Muar Kali” yesterday and at first, I thought it was a name of a person. But then, it seems that the email was all about our god “Kali” in Muar, Johor. There was not much details about this ‘event’ as all the contents (attachments) were purely photos. Before that, let me tell you something. I am the kind of a person who would ignore most of the forwarded emails that I receive and I would only read a few of them once in a blue moon, and that is, randomly. The same goes to this email.

The reason I’m saying so is because this email might be old, in such a way that it was once circulated around 1 year ago, 2 years ago or even 4 years ago. So, if by any chance, the following photos might be familiar to you, kindly apologise my ‘slowpokeness‘ and hope that those who haven’t seen them before shall be having a good time viewing them.

Mother-in-law –> Major cause of divorce in Indian community?

Inlaw

Most of time, Tamil mega serials would never fail to show a scene where the mother-in-law would be trying her level best to either chase away her own daughter-in-law or in some cases, killing her via the most common way which is to mix her drink with some poison. On the other hand, there would even be a scene showing the daughter-in-law trying her level best to chase away her mother-in-law via any plausible means from the house where they are living together so that she could live ‘happily’ with her husband.

Well, all the above were fictional as we all may know. Today, it seems that a study conducted in Malaysia has revealed that the major cause of divorce in Indian community is because of one’s mother-in-law. Yes, you heard that right. One’s mother-in-law could even mean the mother-in-law of a husband and the fight among them as a part of the reason for divorce but that is very unlikely to occur. Seriously, I mean that.

KUALA LUMPUR: Every married person knows it, but a local study has confirmed it – mothers-in-law are the chief cause of divorces, especially in the Indian community.

Data in the Malaysia Community and Family Study 2004 by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) revealed that “meddlesome in-laws” is the number one reason why Indian couples get divorced.

Perhaps if Tamil serials start to emphasize more on the positive bonding of mother-in-laws with their daughter-in-laws, I personally believe that it could at least yield a favorable outcome instead of giving ideas through the screen on how to kill each other via various ways. Sigh.

Prabhakaran watching his own dead body?

Prabhakaran dead

The speculation which stated that Prabhakaran has died seems to be fading out as a picture of him watching the news broadcasting about his death as well as holding a newspaper reporting about him being dead is spreading rapidly all over. Until now, I am still unsure about the picture as who knows, the above picture might be a doctored photograph as well. I even tried zooming in just incase If I could find any pixelated corners but to no avail. Well, if he is really still alive, then it would be good news to all those ardent global LTTE supporters who were initially fooled about his death. We shall wait and see the outcome of this.

Charity Plan

The following was drafted by Durai of RagedIndian.com and both of us planned to post it simultaneously in our respective blogs today. The commenting option for this post has been disabled as I feel, it would be much better to discuss about this plan in one platform alone rather than two different platforms.

I’ve kept you in the dark for such a long time now about the new charity plan. I’ve been planning this from February and I would have executed it if I did not think twice at that time. Previously, when I did a small charity, I had only kept my closest friends in loop so that they could participate.

First, I would like to announce that this charity would be run online with me and Brother Makkez pioneering the event.

After I talked about it here, then I got to know some of you might want to participate. So, I would make it this way then. This time, I’m planning to make it a 2 in 1 kind of thing.

Let me get to the plan:

There are 2 things Makkez and I had planned after a few session of email brainstorming:

1. Books and Stationeries

This is the initial plan that I thought of in February. I’m planning to make the charity plan simple by contributing to Tamil schools. It’s simple because all I thought was, buying 1000 notebooks and stationeries and then handing it over to the Tamil school for them to distribute to the students.

Why?

It’s because based on my own experience teaching Tamil schools 5 years back, I’ve seen how Tamil school children’s lacks the basic tools they need to study everyday. They do not even have notes to write down whatever they’re studying. How do we expect them to excel then?

I know you might think that by distributing it to the children, little effect it might bring to the children. But whether it brings little impact or bigger impact, the rest is up to them. Perhaps we can continue planning something in the future for these kids.

For now, this is what we’re going to execute.

Penguin Pillai

The following picture seems to be making its round in some of the local forums as it is quite funny to see the little girl resembling a ‘penguin’. I have no idea where this picture was taken, who took it as well as when it was taken but rest assured that the guy and the little girl are Indians of-course and thus, I thought of sharing it with you all.

“Bandwidth Limit Exceeded”

For the past few days, my site was down due to the following reason:

Bandwidth

Stats

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” means that my hosting account (or simply put: this blog) has exceeded its allocated bandwidth for the month, and the reason was due to the extremely heavy traffic that I have never expected to get. One thing that I notice is that, the more I didn’t update my blog, the more my visitors tend to increase. For this reason, I don’t know whether I should be happy for getting a lot of incoming visitors or should I be worried about the bandwidth increment. Sigh. Looks like I gotta upgrade my hosting package as soon as possible before my site would be down again this month.

Anyway, let me be honest here. One thing that keeps on pulling visitors to this blog would be the theme of this blog, or to be precise, the Super Adsense Wordpress theme bundled with a great SEO technique. Hats off to Mr. Gobalakrishnan for his wonderful theme! And not forgetting, thanks to all of you who keeps on visiting my blog despite knowing that I’m keeping on giving some lame excuses for not updating my blog regularly.
