Forming a Malaysian Indian party

Indians

Recently, Uncle Sam was quoted saying that there are way too many Indian-based parties around. For the first time ever, I am agreeing with him.

Well, here are some of the notable ones:

  • Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC)

  • Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP)
  • Indian Progressive Front (IPF)
  • Malaysia Makkal Sakti Party (MMSP?)
  • Malaysian Indian Democratic Action Front (MINDRAF)

And the latest addition by Uthayakumar:

  • Human Rights Party (Inclined more towards Indians although not Indian-based)

I really couldn’t find the reasoning behind the formation of HRP and MMSP since both of the parties are somewhat connected to HINDRAF and can even be merged if they want to but I guess some “internal affairs” is what keeps them apart from each other. As for MINDRAF, I don’t have much to say about them except that their name is a ripoff of HINDRAF. Meanwhile, the merger of MIC with either IPF or MIUP can only be ‘talked’ about but in practical, it would never happen despite claiming that they have “reached a so-called agreement”. So, that gives us a total of SIX (6) Indian parties to choose from.

While it seems to be a piece of cake to form an Indian party in this country, I thought of forming one as well. M1i or MAIRE. I bet most of you could easily decode the former one but as for the latter one, I’m seriously hoping if anyone could give some ideas on how to form a nice name by implementing the word “Malaysian” for MA and “Indian” for I. Any ideas for the RE part?

When you mentioned a nicer word which starts with Mai..it somehow rather reminded me of Maika, our Malaysian Indian Bursa Saham. Anyway, i cant think of one as i am never in my life will be a politician or thinks/acts like one all this while. Perhaps, we can just stick with M1i which is short & reliable

Indians dont be so impudent….so many parties but none of these parties did good as the UMNO,MCA and Gerakan. Its useless.Dont any of these leaders thought of the welfare of our indians SERIOUSLY? No.So its better not to support or join these parties…Go and do,contribute, support, help first then these people will automatically will be the followers of these good parties….dont just talk nonsense….do first then talk. Don’t take indians for granted and misuse them…We had enough so if these people cant walk the talk then they might as well mind their own business.

This whole Indian-this Indian that related things is not relevant anymore. If we’re going to accuse some of the standards by the Government as being race biased, then we should also look back at ourselves for the existence and still mushrooming so many Indian-based politic parties today.

I’m not sure the motive of Sir Uthaya behind the forming of this party, but the people like Mr. Velan who had been together with him during his struggle, is also feeling the heat of injustice because of sudden twist towards politics by Sir Uthaya by forming a political party.

With this and so much more drama going to unfold, the unity that was shown during the last GE would be broken , and people yet again, will turn to BN, which I think , personally, our prime minister, Dato Seri Najib is doing a great job.
