The Villanz “Fatimah 2008″ VS The Keys “Fatimah”

I wonder who is that Fatimah!

To those who are scratching their head, well, I’m talking about the latest hit track titled “Fatimah 2008” by The Villanz from their latest album named “Saagavaram“. By the time I’m posting this, it seems that this Fatimah 2008 song is in the lead (Thanks Junio) in THR Raaga’s Malaysian Top 10! Wow, not bad!

Another thing is that this song is featured by Darkkey, the very same person who initiated the original version of Fatimah song together with his “colleagues” - The Keys - a few years back. That was a very very long time ago from what I could recall. So by now, you all should know that this Fatimah 2008 song is a remake of the old Fatimah song, with some modifications done to it, or should I say the transformation of Samba Rock to Hip-Hop!

BUT, one thing perplexes me. I shall assume that some of you would have listened to (watched) the above video and now, try listening to the original version of the Fatimah song below:

Go get Adobe Flash Player!

Spot the difference? Yape, it is the lyrics! Anyway, is it only me or anyone else have noticed that the lyrics for the original Fatimah song are kind of ‘double-meaning‘? LOL! Let me decipher some part of those lyrics!

FATIMAH NEE YERI PAARU MAMA KUTHUREYILE!
- Fatimah, come and ride my (uncle’s?) horse.

THUKKI VECHA KUTHURE MELE ENNA PANIDUVE?
- What would you do If you are on top of the (my) horse?

One of the best Tamil actors mimicry

Sorry guys but I could not recall his full name! The above would be one of the best mimicry I have ever seen, besides those of Michael Augustine, Kovai Guna and Western Pattabi from the same programme (Asatha Povathu Yaaru). These guys rock!

Feel free to watch this one as well (Vijay and Cochin Haniffa damn good!):

Why some doesn’t like the movie Dasavatharam?

Dasavatharam

Why? Why? Why?

After watching Dasavatharam a few days back, I approached some of my known-individuals (friends!) to get their feedback on the movie Dasavatharam and to my despair, there were some people who claimed that the movie was “hmmm….OKlar”! Oklar? Come on dude, it was awesome!

So, why would one say so? Because Rajinikanth didn’t acted with his punch dialogues? Or maybe because Vijay didn’t acted with his same and lame “Naa nadentha whatever, naa okantha whatever, naa kuminja whatever” shit quote?

Some said the storyline was kinda ‘dragging’. Some said the movie was kinda ’slow’ - which means the same thing as ‘dragging’ previously. Some even said that the movie was kinda confusing! Let us exclude the latter part and concentrate on the former part. Dragging? Slow? I would say that a tiny portion of you people are none other than those typical-minded Indians in which the only thing that you all would LOVE and IS-A-MUST to have in a Tamil movie would be:

  • A dance scene in the forest.
  • A poor hero falling in love with a rich girl.
  • A scene whereby either the heroin’s mama or her father himself would be chasing the hero with a parang.
  • A death scene accompanied with a fight and some few arguments.
  • Dan sebagainya.

I could recall a few years back when the movie Aalavanthan made its debut and so many mixed reviews were thrown out pertaining to it. I approached a few of my cousins and asked their feedbacks at that time:

Makkez: How was the Aalavanthan movie? You liked it?
Cousin Girl 1: Not nice lar… Got cartoon scene all… Like stupid only..

Makkez: How was the Aalavanthan movie? You liked it?
Cousin Girl 2: Padoma athu!

Aunty…. Unggelekku theveiya?

The title says it all! This time, I would neither go around bashing those boys nor would I bash those girls, but for a change, it would be an AUNTY! An aunty by the name of ‘Veeramah‘. Haha.

The story goes like this. I was going through some of my local Tamil songs collection inside my PC and there was a folder called “Veeramah”. Inside that folder were a bunch of songs purportedly sang by this “Veeramah” and I have totally forgotten how the hell did those “Veeramah” songs got into my PC! No, it is not a virus or a spyware. And no, my mother’s name is not Veeramah either.

All of a sudden, a flashback came into my mind! I could then recall that I happened to stumble upon this “Veeramah” audio CD long time ago at Brickfields and I had a shock the moment I had a glimpse at the cover of the CD! It depicted a middle-aged woman (I guess so) posing like a BIKER and If I’m not mistaken, a Harley-Davidson-look-alike bike was beside her. I couldn’t control my laughter, put down that CD and left the shop.

A few years have passed and I am now having her songs in my PC! Hmmm. Anyway, I just thought of listening to one of her tracks out of curiosity and to my stupor, I was speechless. Speechless in such a way that I could not speak (type lah!) anything else further.

You listen to it and you judge it.

Click the PLAY button below to hear the song. PAUSE it so that it would buffer fully and you could hear the song without any interruption. If your curiosity is at the optimum level, do not hesitate to listen till the end.

Dhilip Varman (Rogkwave) - Kathal Vethanai

He came, he rocked, he went and then he came again, he rocked again and he went again! Well, I’m talking about the current fame Dhilip Varman, the one who blasted our local Tamil audio industry with his “Uyirai Tholaithen” smashing hit!

The song became an instant hit, with many Indians teenagers (adults too!) attracted to the melody of the song, as well as its lyrics! Not forgetting, the vocal of the singer himself, which is said to be up to par with singers from Tamil film industry in India! Seriously, our brother here deserves a spot to sing in Tamil movies soon!

He came again with “Kanavellam“, yet another smashing hit later on!

Previously, he, together with Sashi, were in a band called “Rogkwave”, in which they have produced an album named “Naveenam (Chapter 2)”. Besides that, Rogkwave has also produced albums such as Selva’s Gift, Selva’s Hope, Sangeeth, 541 and so on!

Their songs are nice to hear, but not many people would have heard all, or at least, most of their songs, excluding those ‘famous’ ones! Here’s a preview of one of Rogkwave’s old song titled Kathal Vethanai taken from the album Naveenam.

Enjoy!
*Sashi and Dhilip, you guys rock!

Can a Tamil movie beat this?

Taken from the movie Ong Bak, I gotta say that the above scene would be the best chasing scene I have ever seen in my life! It is freaking awesome! Wonderful! Fantastic! Gosh, there are no other words to describe it! The hero is known as Tony Jaa and he is a Thailand dude.

Kashmir Stone - Setiap Malam

Just thought of posting this song, as this is one of my favorite Malay song sang by our very own “Mannin Mannirthergal” group, Kashmir Stone. This song is quite old actually and not many people were aware of the existence of this song. Basically, Kashmir Stone is a heavy rock tamil band based in Malaysia and they have produced a lot of songs, including the infamous “80’s Remixes” and the “Mega Serial” song, in which they have even performed the “Mega Serial” song in certain TV shows.

Many Malays were actually attracted to their “Rozanna” song, where as the tune and melody of that song resembles a typical malay song, but just that the lyrics are in Tamil.

A big salute to one of the local tamil rock band and here’s their “Setiap Malam” track for those who haven’t listened to it yet!

Rajini’s “Kuselan” to be released on 18th July

Kuselan

Finally, the news is up! According to IndiaGlitz, the latest Rajinikanth’s movie titled “Kuselan” would be released on 18th July 2008. The storyline won’t be something new as it is a remake of “Katha Parayumpol”, a super hit Malayalam movie.

One thing that surprises me is that the ‘amount’ of heroines in that movie. Nayanthara, Meena, Sneha and Mamta Mohandas! WOW! Just WOW! It has also been reported that the said four actresses plus another actress (Suja) would appear opposite Rajinikanth in a song, and let me stress it again, FIVE ACTRESSES with Rajinikanth in a song! Reminds me of a song in the movie “Naan Avan Illai”! Other actors would be like Pasupathy, Vadivelu, Livingston, Prabhu Ganesan (again!) and so on.

I seriously hope this movie won’t be further ‘enhanced’ with some stupid addons, such as flying from one building to another (ehem!), sword-fighting, the same lame punch dialogues, one hero going against 50+ villains and all those other typical tamil movies’ gimmicks! For god’s sake, please stop all these “breaking-the-law-of-physics” actions! Isaac Newton has already committed suicide after watching ‘a few’ of Vijayakanth’s actions, and I wonder which physician going to commit suicide after watching the latest Vijay’s movie “Kuruvi”, let alone when watching Rajinikanth performing some stupid stunts equivalent to those of Vijayakanth’s?

Anyway, below is the synopsis of the Malayalam movie “Katha Parayumbol”, which might or might not be 100% as the upcoming “Kuselan” but anyhow, it’s worth a read!

Tamil song from DENMARK

Yup! You heard that right! It’s Denmark! Personally, I have never heard any other tamil songs besides those from Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Germany, Canada and India but this video song is something new to me, especially from where it came from.

It seems that the music was composed by Logan & Thushanth, and I seriously have no idea who are they! Why am I posting this here? Well, I bet some of you would be eager to listen to ‘their’ (Denmark) tamil song(s) and comparing it with our local songs (which happens to be blast!), so, if you happened to be a music enthusiast, good luck in decrypting the lyrics as well as the music!

*Duh, can’t he get a pure tamil girl to perform?
*The title of the song is “Manam Virumputhe”
