I was stunned when I read the news saying that our local tycoon is bidding to buy the Newcastle United Football Club. Yes, you heard that right. Newcastle United! While it does sounds great knowing the fact that one of our makkals is venturing into Brit’s football, I would say that would be one of the weirdest move made by our big boss.
 

Billionaire Malaysian media mogul T. Ananda Krishnan is the man reportedly behind an £80 million (RM460.6 million) bid to buy English football club Newcastle United, according to The Sun newspaper in the United Kingdom.

The Sun reported that Ananda, who controls Maxis Communications, gaming group Tanjong plc, Measat and Astro, is closing in on the deal to end Mike Ashley’s nightmare two-year “Toon” reign.

 
RM460 million? Well, if he fails in bidding for that football club, he might wanna consider donating a ‘small portion’ of that money to the Penang government so that they could use it to resolve the Kampung Buah Pala issue by buying over the land and for everyone’s sake, stop pointing fingers once and for all.

The whole world is in a state of shock due to the death of our beloved King of Pop, Michael Jackson (1958 ~ 2009). For those in the age range of 20 and above, I bet most of you would not have forgotten some of his super hit songs; Beat It, Billie Jean, Black or White, Thriller and You are not alone to name a few. No matter what, he is and will always be the King of Pop and no one could ever replace a legend like him. R.I.P.

Tamil Mimicry artist Kovai Ramesh also known as Ramesh Kumar, who is known to leave his audience in fits of laughter, had them in tears on Saturday, he died in a road accident on his 40th birthday. Coincidentally, it was the birthday of driver Karthikeyan who also died in the fatal accident.

Kovai Ramesh started his career as a mimicry artist performing at stage shows. His acquaintance with Kovai Guna and Kovai Ashok lead him to the talent show ‘Kalakkapovadhu Yaaru’ telecast by Vijay TV in 2005. Since then there was no looking back for this talented artist who captivated the viewers by dressing in female attire and imitating yesteryear heroines’ voices.

 
Well, I gotta say that I am a big fan of him when it comes to mimicking actresses body language as well as their voices, such as those of Oorvasi, Banupriya, Banumathi, Saroja Devi and so on. Those were classic! Unfortunately, sad to say that he is no longer alive now. Although I rarely watch Asatha Povathu Yaaru nowadays as how I used to do last time, he would always be one of my top picks from that show. May his soul rest in peace.

INDIAGLITZ: Nagesh, the man who gave millions a million laughs through hundreds of films passed away this morning (January 31 2009) in Chennai after suffering from a prolonged illness.

According to reports, Nagesh fell down a couple of months ago and injured his leg severely. He had been in his residence ever since. Another unfortunate event happened yesterday when he tripped and fell inside his bathroom. The actor was taken to a private hospital and was discharged the same day after treatment. At around 11 am this morning Nagesh passed away.

 
Gosh, at first it was the demise of actor Raghuvaran, followed by M.N. Nambiar and now it is Nagesh, in a very short period of time! God must be crazy.

We have lost a wonderful legendary comedian. May his soul rest in peace.
