Nationwide “Yaagam” postponed to 23rd March

Vanakam,

The nationwide “Yaagam” (fire ritual) that was planned on the mark of 100th day detention of our HINDRAF leaders under draconian law, ISA will be postponed to :-

Day : Sunday (23rd March 2008)
Time : 7.00 am to 9.00 am

This Yaagam is dedicated to LORD MURUGAN to bless the speedy release of the five ISA-detained human-rights activists/lawyers and to uplift Malaysian Indians through the proposed 18 demands to PM.

It was postponed to Sunday 23rd March after some advice from concerned Swamijis and learned leader from Astrology field on the date and time planned. Since the whole activity is for a good cause with united prayers to get blessings from Lord Muruga, we wisely accept the advice on the need to change.

Please inform the temples and our devotees on this changes.

Do work with the temples on having several Yaagam ( 5 or 9 or 18 ) at the same time. This can be done by requesting the priest to chant mantras while the devotees can do the Yaagam offering.

Any concern or queries, please do call Kannan R at 012-269-0024.

A message from P.Waytha Moorthy

Dear HINDRAF supporters,

22nd March marks 100 days of the draconian arrest and detention of our brothers under the Internal Security Act.

In conjunction of this I invite HINDRAF supporters to organize nationwide forums on the 22nd March and at least 100 yagams (fire rituals) throughout the country.

Please organise the forums in public halls and seek/apply police permits early. You could invite the newly elected MP’s/ State assemblymen/ ex ISA detainees/lawyers to talk on the cruelty of ISA detentions.

A representative of HINDRAF could speak on the continued struggle of HINDRAF and our commitments for the protection of Minority Rights. At the end of the Forums kindly release 5 pigeons to mark the quest for freedom of the 5.

I also urge you to organize 100 yagams (fire rituals) throughout the country to mark this day seeking Divine Blessings for our 5 heroes detained and for the success of our 18 demands. I suggest we all collectively organise the yagams for Lord Muruga and invoke his blessings for our struggle.

The yagams could be organized in Temples/homes ect and need not be large numbers of participants. There are simple methods of conducting these yagams and you need not engage priests or “qualified persons”. All men and women with sincere heart and thoughts are qualified to organise these rituals. You may obtain simple instructions on how to organise these yagams by contacting Mr. Shanmugam on +6 019 2285124.

If you are organising a yagam please inform details and venues of your yagam by way of email to admin@hindraf.org or contact HINDRAF event co-ordinator Mr. Kannan on +6012 2690024.

For all enquiries of the programs ie Forum and the yagams please do not hesitate to contact Mr Kannan on the above number.

RE: Malaysian peaceful rally on February 16, 2008 in New York to release HINDRAF 5 in Malaysia.
Venue : Malaysian Consulate General of New York -313 East, 43rd Street, NY, NY 10017
Nearest Subway – Grand Central, New York
Time : 11.00am – 1.00pm

History

Since November 2007, there has been numerous rallies by various segment of the society in Malaysia through non-violent activities ie BERSIH rally on November 10, 2007, (Electoral reform), HINDRAF rally on November 25, 2007 (minority right issues), International Human Right rally on December 10, 2007 (universal human right issue), and the latest pricing hike protest (public interest) on January 26, 2008 to show the will of the people but have faced severe backlash by way of intimidation, fear and arrest attributed by the totalirism of the ruling administration under the guise of democracy.

All the above had been well documented in all international media.

Current issue

Now, on February 16, 2008, HINDRAF is planning in a non violent way by handing over roses and peacefully requesting the Prime Minister of Malaysia to release five (5) detainees of the HINDRAF (under ISA – without trial or charge) who had voiced their concern in the ever deteriorating state of the Indian minority in Malaysia and in a broader sense to provide equal platform for all Malaysians for the enhancement of the society.

In support of this, Malaysians in New York are holding a peaceful rally to show their support for the common cause of upholding human and civil liberty issues that is lacking in Malaysia and seek the release of the HINDRAF 5.

Objective

In order for it to be effective to bring any changes or international pressure, it is always vital that that all Malaysian irrespective of creed, color, race and religion play a role around the world to show solidarity for the common cause of Malaysia.

The true civilization is where every man gives to every other every right that he claims for himself - Robert G. Ingersoll

Bro,

I came across a job recruitment website (for Singaporeans) where as the recruitment is open to all nationalities, EXCEPT INDIANS!!!! THIS IS A BIG DISCRIMINATION TO THE INDIANS!! Please inform everyone about this!!

A quick check by me confirms the information, but not the discrimination! Here are some screenshots of the recruitment page:

Discrimination

The portion of which the “EXCEPT INDIANS” rule is stated

Here’s a short description of the company:

BITECH International Pte Ltd is part of a transnational conglomerate founded in 1988. BITECH has offices in Singapore, Malaysia, India, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka and operates in the US as Transworld Information Systems Inc. With over 700 software professionals on board worldwide and having accumulated over 3000 person years of experience, BITECH is a truly global ICT Professional Services Company.

The job offered is: SAP HR (Techno - Functional) Consultant

It seems that only INDIAN NATIONALITIES are not eligible to apply for this job, and I don’t think it would somewhat affect the Malaysian Indians or Singaporean Indians. But, why wanna reject the Indians from India for this job? Isn’t it harsh to state there “EXCEPT INDIANS” raspingly?

Kedah: School sports day selection on Thaipusam Day

Dear Sir,
I hope you can publish this in your blog. The publication can be an effective deterrent for future.

I am parent of Form 1 student of Sek Men Taman Hi-Tech in Kulim. I attended the school Sports Day yesterday and I am just shocked at what I saw.

The Malaysian government started the National Service Program, with the objective of racial integration, my foot. That 3-month stint is just a show to make money when the situation in schools are totally different.

This is what I saw yesterday.

Very few Indians participated in the sports event. Indians are suppose to be good in running, but there were very few, I asked the boys. And they said the reason is because the final selection was done on Thaipusam Day. Although it was not a public holiday, Indians took leave and went to temples that day. The school purposely chose that day to select the final participants. That was purposely done.

March Pass
It was racially divided. The army/police cadet was 100% Malays whereas Cadet
Bomba was 100% non-Malays.
The army cadet uniform was perfect, 100% given, where as the Bomba was crazy, some wore T-Shirts, different kinds of shoes
because all the cost need to be borne by the parents. Why?

I really felt very saddened at what happened. It is a bullshit to say the Education Ministry is looking into ways to integrate the races, but in fact they are purposely segregating them.

Is this what the government say ‘We care for all races, we are fair to all’????
