Sai Fund Transformation

Sai Fund

To all Sai Fund followers, you may notice that there hasn’t been any new posts, updates or news in our group lately. This is because the Facebook group has been ‘upgraded’ to the new interface and in the end, we had lost many of the basic features that we used to have during the olden days of the Facebook group.

I’m not saying that we are going to close down the group but instead, we are bringing it to a higher level, which is to build up a new website dedicated to Sai Fund. Upon doing that, we will then incorporate the Facebook social plugin so that all our Facebook members can still interact and stay in touch with the current updates and happenings in our Sai Fund group site. This transformation is being done in the background by the Sai Fund team and we expect this to be completed in the next few weeks. Do take note that we will also incorporate some interactive modules, widgets and so forth to keep our site lively and user-friendly.

Sai Fund Charity – The Review

I apologise in advance as this post has been delayed way too long due to my unavailability and I’m extremely sorry for that.

It’s been like 2 weeks since our first charity under ‘Sai Fund’ was executed and here I am to pen down a review of the event.

Starting with the take off, Myself and brother Eyezmachi went to the meetup point where we met the other volunteers (Brother Prethi, Brother Durai, Brother Kannan, Brother Sasi and Brother Danny). As for Preeta and Selina, we managed to meet them nearby the Pulau Carey roundabout and proceeded to convoy together. It was around 9.45am when we managed to reach SJKT Pulau Carey Timur.

The school was fascinating at the first glimpse itself, especially the sight of those lily flowers floating around the school along with a ‘tiny’ water fountain. Even the environment of the school was quite nice actually considering the fact that the school is located a few kilometers away from the main road. Without wasting any time, we then brought down the load from each of our cars and put them at a designated area in the school hall to be distributed to the kids later on. At that point, we noticed that it was time for those kids to have their break.

All the kids were then ordered by their headmistress to go over to the canteen so that we could proceed to serve them with the food that we have brought, which were mee hoon and KFC. Each of us took our own roles, one being the chicken server, the others being the drinks server while the photographers, well, remain as photographers-of-course. All the kids seems to be enjoying their meals and we could see that most of them did finished their meals after all (of course, it’s finger lickin’ good). As always, those kids never failed to refill their drinks without hesitation. After serving those kids, it was time for the teachers and the organisers to have theirs.

Sai Fund – Because every child counts

Sai Fund

As some of you may already knew, we have re-diverted our initial charity plan to a separate entity which is currently operating as a Facebook group, called ‘Sai Fund‘.

The group will prioritize education and food needs for the unfortunate poor children.

We’ve successfully organized few programs over the past 1 1/2 years. We’re bringing all of you together so that this plans can be executed in a bigger scale. All the money that you will be donating would feed or provide education needs for poor children, now imagine the impact you’ll be making in the future of those children.

The group is named after Shirdi Sai Baba(1838-1918) whose sole mission was spreading love among all living creatures and planting the seed and need for everyone to do charity and help the poor.

Please go HERE to read more on what this group is all about as well as to know in detail regarding the motive of it. We have also listed the amount of donations that we have received thus far and would be sending out newsletters from time to time, informing our members of our progress. By the time I am posting this, we are nearing 1000 members and that is a huge landmark for us! Please do consider donating as low as RM10 a month as your donation would definitely secure a child’s life.

SJK(T) Pulau Carey Selatan Charity – The Story

So as you all may know, we have successfully executed our charity event on 22nd February 2010. Before I proceed any further, let me express my gratitude to all the donators who had donated more than enough to fund this charity, along with our readers and supporters for being a part of the backbone in organising this charity, directly and indirectly.

It was a bright day when brother Suren of Eyezmachi.com and myself drove all the way to the Banting road (via KESAS) and waited for brother Durai of RagedIndian.com, brother Sashi and brother Kannan at the side of the road. While driving, I thought to myself on how the hell I am going to face all the students and teachers at that school as I was having a flu on that day and my eyes were swollen due to being allergic to some fucked-up pills, thus being forced to wear a cooling glass. “Ah, mairachi..”. At least that gave me some confidence.

The journey was quite long in order to reach that school as we have to go through the estate road as seen in the following picture. By the time we arrived there, our cars were soaked in sand, dust and rock.

The moment we reached there, we quickly ask the teacher whether do the students want to have their ‘breakfirst’ first or should we segregate all the books and hand over to them. Instead of an answer, it was the teacher who asked us back the same question. Anyway, she suggested that it would be better to prepare the breakfast as the break time is nearing. Without hesitating, we prepared their breakfast, served the kids with a pack of meehoon and of course, a piece of chicken (KFC) for each of the kids. “Nandri anne” (Thanks brother) would be the common word that we could hear from those kids when we are serving them, something that we don’t get to hear all the time.
