Nufflets.com - Latest Malaysian Advertising Network

Nufflets.com. Yes! You heard that right! Based on their name, you might be thinking to yourself, “Oh, this name sounds familiar…..”. Anyway, it seems that the name was derived from Nuffnang and Advertlets, which happens to be two of the famous Asia’s Advertising Network.

So, how it differs from other advertising networks? Well, they claimed that they would credit USD$5 (Not RM5!) into your account once your website is accepted into the Nufflets network and another USD$10 (Not RM10!) when you provided a linkback to Nufflets.com at your mainpage. I’m not quite sure what kind of ‘linkback’ they are mentioning about but try including their link at your sidebar “Links” section or whatever section you have and after that, contact them by saying that you had added their link at your main page (Don’t force them to credit you USD$10 on the spot).

Sorry to say but Blogger.com and Wordpress.com users are not eligible for this service as they are giving priority to those TLD domain owners. I’ve added one of their ’small button’ ad under my ‘Affiliates’ section. Have a look!

Windows Live Messenger VS MSN Messenger

Well, the debate starts again! Many people are not satisfied with Windows Live Messenger (WLM) regardless of its version, as it seems to be a big mess for certain people, especially those who are poorly rigged. Personally, I’m a ‘MSN Messenger’ lover as that version is the most stable and resource-saving chat utility by Microsoft. To be frank, I even used Windows Messenger for quite some time as a substitute to see how it goes but some of the features are lacking behind, thus I have to switch back to MSN Messenger.

The problem starts when all of a sudden, I was ‘forced’ to upgrade to a so-called newer version, which in return, installed the ‘latest’ and ‘powerful’ Windows Live Messenger. I found it to be a big hectic as the time it took to sign me in, to load and to respond was terrible. In addition, it even disconnects me frequently and would take ages to re-connect back.

So, after uninstalling that stupid ‘Windows Live Messenger’, I re-installed MSN Messenger 7.5 and to my surprise, I was ‘forced’ to upgrade again! Damn!

Here’s a quick solution to revert back to MSN Messenger :

Here we come! - MIC Youths

It seems that MIC Youth leaders had made a gigantic plan to go on a one-week nationwide tour to explain the problems and issues affecting the Indian community.

According to its chief, S.A Vigneswaran, he “thought” that the explanations were necessary so that the Indian community would know what the government and MIC are actually doing to resolve their problems. Without mentioning what are the problems that would be raised during the community ‘chit-chat’, he accidentally expressed that :

“We in the MIC do not want Indians to cast protest votes in the next general election. We want the community to continue to support Barisan.”

So, what is the real motive behind this nationwide tour? There are two options to be exact, one, to garner votes by giving false promises and hopes and second, to garner votes by showing some sympathy! (Indians are good at this!)

PoliceWatchMalaysia.com …. blocked?

Well, it is confirmed that 11 websites had been blocked, including the website which monitors the movement and activities of HINDRAF (Hindu Rights Action Force), PoliceWatchMalaysia.com.

Previously, the same blocking massacre had been carried out by Securities Commission (SC) and Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in blocking access to illegal investment scam sites, and certainly, these dudes would had blocked this PoliceWatchMalaysia site and 10 other websites as well. I’m not sure what were the 10 other websites that had been blocked but one thing for sure, we are losing our ‘freedom of speech’ in this cyberspace world!

Chanru had suggested the usage of proxy to access those blocked sites, and I would suggest the same too. There are many type of proxies available on the net, one being free web-based proxy, free proxy server to be used with internet browsers, tunneling softwares such as HTTP-Tunnel and so on.

Here are some proxy sites that might be handy for you:

Free them, urged New York-based Human Rights Watch!

New York-based Human Rights Watch called on the Malaysian government to release the five leaders from the Hindu Rights Action Force currently being held under the draconian Internal Security Act, a draconian law that “has long been used against peaceful political and rights activists”.

“Holding Hindraf leaders under the ISA is an attempt to frighten into silence a minority community concerned about its rights,” said Elaine Pearson, deputy Asia director at Human Rights Watch. “If laws were broken, then the offenders should be charged and properly tried, not detained indefinitely.”

Kuala Lumpur on December 13 arrested Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) leaders P. Uthayakumar, M. Manoharan, V. Ganabatirau, R. Kenghadharan, and T. Vasanthakumar under the ISA. Hindraf protests what they believe to be discriminatory government economic policies against Malaysia’s Indian population. A mass demonstration was held on November 25 in Kuala Lumpur, drawing about 20,000 people to the street. Kuala Lumpur police did not issued a permit for the rally.
